yes

any dp cable will support 144hz
dual link dvi-d will also support 144hz
hdmi does not
single link dvi-d does not

On wiki, it says Displayport version 1.0 and 1.1 dose not support 144hz.

On wiki, it says Displayport version 1.0 and 1.1 dose not support 144hz.

yes the port not the cable you need 1.2 for support up to 1440p max with 144hz and 1.3 for 4k 144hz

it will work at the lower of the gpu or monitor spec

If you look at the date, not only will you see that you necro'd a thread, but you'd also see that only 1.2a was the latest standard at the time.

As far as bandwidth goes, the last version to increase bandwidth was 1.2. Considering that 1.1 has long since been replaced and all that... yeah, pretty much any DP cable at the time (typical 1.2 and 1.2a) was (is) more than acceptable for 144hz, especially considering that the highest res at the time to have 144hz support was 1440p.

All that said... It is in the cable. Unless you get a reduced bit rate cable, they are all the same. The port standard changed, not the cable.
