I would react and think the exact same way if my experiences with a certain company would be like that, pretty understandable point!!!
I've had them in the past, just not menchanical, and am using a G710+ from my brother in-law (hence my new intrest in a mechanical keyboard) and am quite happy with it.
With the logitech, it is mainly the odd keys on the one I can get for $90 that is holding me back. The update one with normal caps is $180 or the normal caps are an extra $40, both those are a bit much and add to the cost.
I am leaning more towards the Corsair at the moment, if only it would go on sale, then I would be all over it.
On the flip side, your experiance could also be the exception. I doubt it would be as popular as it is, if your experiance was the rule.
Sometimes people just have bad experiances with a product brand. It happens.

That is because I did research on what one I wanted ahead of time and what I found around my price point. If you want to make an actual suggestion, that would be helpful. I've already read many reviews on the "top X" mechanical keyboards over the last two years.
The Logitech, Corsair and Razor are the three available that I can actualy try hands on as well.
That guide is also lacking. For example, the AZIO brand is not even listed on there and that is a good one that my wife uses. Also one of the top rated on Amazon.
Without the arrogant sarcasm this could have been helpfull a lot... Can't believe I never recognised how basic those forums and myself were.....
Yea I hear you... today most all of this hardware comes with RGB features, which is good cause now we pretty much do not need to pick these components separately based around any LED colors, just pick the device of choice and configure the colors via software.
I have to admit, Logitech does have a great track record for well-rounded software, Corsair does not. In fact Corsair Link is a big joke, it rarely works.
As for Mechanical KBs like Corsair being "loud" from what gets captured, many streamers don't have Mics that are mounted away and off of their desk, so the mic actually gets more feedback from the key-bounce, which reverberates through the desktop and into their mic. Mics should never be connected to the desktop surface, or their can pickup various unwanted feedback.
On another note, Cherry-MX RED is a bit louder, but good feedback. If you want quiet audible from those, get BROWN.
Avoid Razer like the plague

It is a possibility as well.
It is also bad because the price is far higher for the same keyboard.
Only issue I realy have with noise is that my wife's computer is in the same room as me and my son tends to be in here too.
The Corsair I want only comes in Cherry MX Red, otherwise I would have gone with the Brown.
In short, pretty much any Keyboard from Logitech over $100 or so can be well worth it.
Same goes for a good mouse, like G500S or G502
Logitech has some of the better software. I look at this first, hardware quality next.
If the software is junk, so is the device. And yes many hardware won't survive a tank running over it. Well I say take care of your stuff and you'll never need that kind of military quality.
Mostly all those Corsair KB models are offered in Red, Brown and I think one or two others.
Link me the base model and I will look it up fully and clarify whats available if you cant find it. I can always call up a Corsair rep and have a solid answer clarified that way as well.
With a keyboard, software isn't realy something I care about. If I can plug it in and it works, I like it. I don't even use the G keys on a keyboard.
But yes if the keyboard is more basic, software isn't needed.
And with most keyboards that have lighting, you can usually set that is software, and that in-turn sets that in the KB ROM. Allowing that to be recalled upon during power ups, reboots and is why the KB can remember certain settings once set and the software removed. It such a case as that, I keep that software installed, but then remove it from OS startup.
Three light settings (not including off) is all I realy need. Multimedia keys usualy don't require anything more then drivers, if that. Mainly it is the volume control I am after, with out having to push a function or putton, hence why the ones I am looking at use a roller for volume...this will allow me to hid the ugly volume controller on my speaker wire.
Only reason I am looking at the Logitech one I posted, is due to it being $90.
Damn...I was realy looking at that Azio, but it is only in Kailh blue and not brown option with out getting the RGB one...
I prefer to spend the money on a better mouse, which has more uses, and can make a diference, even for us non pro gamers.
Already have a Logitech G502.
I play many diffrent games, including RPG, ARPG, FPS, RTS and adventure games.
Until I tried this barrowed mechanical keyboard, I refused to spend more then $20 on a keyboard. Honestly, it does make a diffrence. The feel of it and the way it works is a lot better then any keyboard I have had before, even when there were only mechanical ones available (long time ago).
Since a mechanical keyboard lasts far longer then the membrane ones as well, it saves money in the long run.
http://www.mechanical-keyboard.org/advantages-and-disadvantages-of-mechanical-keyboards/
Membrane keyswitch for the keyboard last for 5 million presses. A Mechanical keyboard lasts for 30-70 million presses. So that mechanical one last 6x longer, so you wouldn't need to replace it. One keyboard at $20 for 5 million presses or $100 mechanical for 50 million presses. That saves about $20 over the life of the keyboard, if you replaced the membrane one every 5 million presses.
Considering you spent about half of what a mechanical one would cost, you may as well have just bought a mechanical one and it have lasted 6 times longer for only 2x the price.
