AfterGlow PS3 Controller: How come I can't play Skyrim with it??

I have an AfterGlow PS3 controller (https://www.amazon.com/Afterglow-Wireless-Controller-Blue-PlayStation-3/dp/B00F68LBE0), that I bought at GameStop but same this as the URL, and unsure as to why it isn't working. My friend literally just starts the game up, then plugs in the Bluetooth USB and plays. However, my computer won't. I tried Motioninjoy and it won't detect my controller. Help?

Don't use motion joy, it is know to send encrypted data back to China.

I personally use a cronusmax - www.cronusmax.com It uses hardware to make the PC think the DS3 is an Xbox 360 controller and you can plus a bluetooth dongle into it so the DS3 can still be used wireless.
