Don't use 368.xx
any number of things can cause it though
and for the record, i use 368.22, encountered ZERO problems with it.
how would i go about changing back to 368.22?
Control Panel > Programs and Features
Uninstall all NVIDIA, with the last one you uninstall, being the "Forceware" as that is the core drivers themselves.
First though, go download the version you wish to install, so you already have this on-hand after uninstalling current drivers.
368.xx in general are terrible unless you have a newer GPU, such as GTX 1070/1080
Stick to 365.xx ones until a better one comes out that proves to be stable on GTX 700/900 series GPUs.

When you go to uninstall or reinstall drivers in Win10, disconnect the LAN/WIFI first. Wait til after they are installed to re-connect online. This avoid any interruptions from Windows Updates.
i downloaded 365.19 but it still crashed :/

The game is probably trying to load a lower res by default that your Monitor doesn't like.
Anywho, your refresh rate is probably out of range.
This isnt a solution
And Win7 wont be around forever
Yes but if OP is using Win10 as an in-place-Upgrade; that is pretty much your issue right there.
Go back to Win7 or clean install Win10
Exactly!
But yes, a clean install is always best.
It is always better to downgrade to windows 7, cause that might be the problem, much games can't open on Windows 10, but.. I don't think clean-install will help "That much". Only way to do it.
Good luck fixing it, I'm leaving the discussion, now.
Plus the previous OS will only be available for a Revert for a limited time (approx 30 days)
Whatever the OS, clean install and then latest Driver from official sources is best bet.
