Increase vRAM

Is there any possible way i could use my installed RAM to boost the vRAM of my GPU?
I have a GTX 970 and 3.5gb isnt really cutting it for 4k gaming and since i have 32gb it wouldnt be a problem to take some of it and move it to vRAM because i will have tons left over. The only thing i need to know if this is in any way possible.

Ram will be used when you run out of vram anyway, problem is, it is far too slow and will cause stuttering as data is moved around.

Just game at 1080p, a 970 isn't going to cut it anyway to play anything at a decent framerate or graphics quality in 4k. I have a 980ti and even that doesn't do 4k well at all.

If you want to play in 4K then GTX 1080 would be lot better choice.

Also even tho I have an overkill enthusiast build, I will ask are you shore you want 4k? The performance increase is arguable, but the price increase is brutal.

'1080 actually performed worse than a 1070 in some games' Another reason why I'm looking at getting a Gtx 980Ti instead of a Gtx 1080.

A GTX 1070 is actually as fast as a GTX 980 Ti and with more VRAM. You should get that. The GTX 1080 should be faster overall, though, because of GDDR5X VRAM.

No need for the Gtx 1070 either I'm only at 1080P so I'll get triple figure fps just like the Gtx 1070 would.

If he needs more VRAM, then he should get a GTX 1070. A GTX 980 has the full 4 GB VRAM, but is now outclassed by the GTX 1070. Even the GTX 980 Ti is now outpaced.

The Gtx 980Ti has 6GB Vram which is alot more than the Gtx 970,and the orginal Gtx 980. 8GB of Vram on the Gtx 1070 is useless you don't need more than 6GB for a graphics card.

It's possible to push a few games above 4 GB VRAM even on a 1080p screen. Using 4X DSR, AA, textures, etc. maxed out in games like GTA V and Shadow of Mordor may break the 4 GB barrier.

The Gtx 980Ti will still be the best 900 series card (for normal gamers) as the Gtx Titan X is the true best 900 series card but those are for enthusiast gamers and still cost thousands to buy. The Gtx 1080 will be the best non-Ti 10 series card but once the Gtx 1080Ti comes out that will be the best 10 series card for normal gamers. This pattern will always be the same so in 2018 it will be the Gtx 1180 that is the best non-Ti 11 series card.

The VRAM is for the resolution you wish to max things out 4GB of VRAM is enough to max things out on a 1080p so 4k will need even more VRAM

You don't really need a Titan x for gaming solely for gaming is not worth your buck the reason it's so expensive was because it's the only card above the 900 series to have double floating precision point
