Most likely because it doesn't have drivers for anything newer than Vista. Try something less ancient.

Need to get Nero 10
Why even need Nero in this day and age, what is it you need to do?

I just prefer to use Nero to burn discs and create DVDs and CDs without using the Windows Explorer.

Ok, buy the newest version
Nero7 was meant for Vista and Win7

Windows 10 has burning software build-in, no need for third party software.

Actually, Nero 9 was the first version that officially supported Windows 7.
Nero 8 inofficially supported Windows 7. Nero 7 didn't.

There are also plenty of good free burning software out there that does everything needed for backing up files, making picture disc slideshows, making dvd movie backups...

So would using Nero 8 or Nero 9 work?

No. You need at least Nero2016 for Windows 10 support.

Download Original Nero 7 Update or Original Nero 10 there are better FREE CD-DVD Burning software than Nero

I am experiencing the same problem with "Nero IX," but on "Windows XI" instead. I've used Nero products since I was a child. I REALLY want my Nero software back.
Do not do Windowa Updates for Jan 2025 in Win10

You should be using Nero 10 ot later for Win10/11. Nothing older
Nero still relevant? Is not it a huge combine of useless features?
