[PC] Asus USB BT400 Bluetooth dongle. + Sony Dualshock3
Hello folks

I just bought a bt dongle to get rid of my wire for my Sony PS3 controller.

Asus USB BT400
http://www.asus.com/us/Networking/USBBT400/
Its supporting Bluetooth 4.0 downwards to 2.0 (+controllers)
My OS is Win7 64b

It seems like this dongle is not detecting the PS3 controller with any driver.
And the Pairing tool is not detecting the dongle.
(My PS3 still does, so the controller is not broken)

Googled now like 6 hours for solutions.
The most hopeful advice I could get was this Guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuxXUKN1vz8

I also tried:
The delivered Asus BT400 driver
The delivered Asus BT400 driver + zadic override
The normal Windows Update driver
The normal Windows Update driver + zadic override
The motionjoy drivers
The motionjoy drivers Updated with my dongle Hardware id
(%MIJ.DeviceName%=CC_Install, USB\VID_8086&PID_0189) + Install
The Better Ds3 tool drivers with Sixxaxis Pairing tool divice drivers

For sure I was deinstalling those drivers each new step and rebooting PC.

Does anyone else use this BT Dongle and have the same problem?

So this driver overwrites the regular Windows bluetooth driver... Does anyone know if you can use one dongle to work with PS3 controllers, and a second one using the regular drivers?

Just get a cronusmax mate - www.cronusmax.com. You plug it into your pc and it gets installed as an Xbox 360 controlller. You then plug your bluetooth dongle in to it and synv your ds3/ds4 or wiimote with it. The pc doesn't even know the bluetooth dongle is there and you don't have to worry about any dodgy bluetooth drivers messing up your system.

As I said before, it also makes the pc think my playstation controllers are xbox controllers so I don't need any custom or dogy third party drivers at all. Everything is done via the hardare.
Have you tried using it as a mouse/keyboard adapter on console as well?

And do you have any idea if it works with the PS Move Navigation controller? I like to use it in combination with a mouse for shooters.

I have used it to play with kbm on my XB1, it did a really good job. I was quite surprised at how close it came to feeling like a pc.

Not sure what the Move nav controller is as I've never owned the ps move but i found instructions for connecting a PS3 navigation controller in their manual if that's what you mean?

Cool, glad that's the right controller. I like the device, I have a handful of them now just to save me moving one around from my pc to consoles. I mainly use it to play on my ps4 with my xb1 controller and to use my g27 on my xb1 these days.

I know it does a lot more than just using different controllers on consoles and pc though. It's got a mini computer on board which is a macro conroller or something. So it can do things like rapid fire and 50 hit combos with one button in fighting games ect. I don't use it for that myself but I'm told it does a superb job.

I'd probably switch it back and forth between my PS4 (so I can use mouse for aiming) and my PC to use the nav controller. Is it a pain in the ass to switch set-ups?

Nope, you can store a bunch of profiles on it. It has 9 slots for profiles although the KBM software can store as many as you like I think, I know I have about 30 setups for different games on there. All you have to do when using it on a PC is set the output protocol on it to Xbox 360. That takes about 10 seconds to do though.

As you are going to use it on a PS4, pick up a cheap usb 2 hub if you don't have one. The ps4 constaly checks the controller connected is a dualshock 4 and if it doesn't see one after about 10 minutes, it disconnects the controller. To stop that from happening they made a firmware update which allow you to plug a ds4 and your cross over controller into the device at the same time. It takes the security info from the ds4 and passes that to the console but takes the inputs from your cross over controller. Like in this video they posted where you can see one of their staff members playing Batman on the PS4 with an xb1 controller. It even lets you remap buttons, so you can still use the touchpad with an xb1 controller even though it doesn't have one. It's a clever little device.

As I said, i've been so impressed that I own a few of them now.

I've checked some youtube unboxings/reviews and they all say it works great... And yet it still sounds to good to be true. Most setups that just bring mouse and keyboard to console and nothing more cost about twice that.

I was dubious at first but I was pleasantly surprised at just how well this device works. There is no lag and I can use pretty much any controller connected to my PC on my consoles. As long as it's a direct input ot Xinput controller, I can forward the outputs to my console. As I said, I can even use my g27 on my XB1 to play forza 6.

If you connect a mouse to a console, can you use all the buttons it has? I've got a Logitech G502, I'd love to use all its buttons.

I'm not sure, my mouse only has a few buttons and when you assign a mouse button, a dialog pops up telling you to just press the button you want to use.

In their manual, it does say you can use up to 5 mouse buttons though - http://cronusmax.com/manual/#layout_configuration.htm

Although you can assign any button from your keyboard so I suppose if you mouse software lets you use a button to press any key you like, then I don't see why you couldn't use them all.

Use it via a CronusMAX - www.cronusmax.com. That's what I do. The PC thinks it's a 360 controller so it works with games without any dodgy software to worry about.

I had to follow this tutorial first (from the same guy) :
https://youtu.be/TpSaOJJIun8

and then followed the tutorial of your post, BUT I also selected my PS3 controller (on the part where he wants to select the dongle) and selected Upgrade Driver. Rebooted and my controller connected with USB and kept connected via bluetooth after disconnecting the cable xD
