I have a 670 4 GB in my secondary rig and a Gtx 1080 in my main rig. I also have the HTC Vive. The HTC Vive is the most amazing innovation gaming has ever seen.
Just be aware that if you go into VR gaming you will be part of the test phase. This means that there will be some amazing experiences and some bad experiences but you get to help mold the gaming community for the future.
If you have the money I highly recommend it. If you have an i5 or better all you will need is a new GPU to play. People have actually played the Vive on cards like the 670 but it only works on some titles.
VR is the future of gaming. I don't think it will ever replace 2d gaming but I think there will come a time in the next 5 years where the biggest sellers will be on VR systems.
Don't wait and do t listen to anyone who doesn't own a Vive.
A 670 2GB will also be too weak for VR as well. If you want VR you will need, preferably a 1060 6GB or better.
Yeah my bad, good catch. I just remember reading ps4 awhile back but that's the original not pro. Ps4 pro is 2.25 that of the original sitting at around 4.2TF.
Doesn't matter though because you would still be better off buying a new GPU for PC and getting the HTC Vive.
Also room scale is what makes the HTC Vive so much more advanced anyway.
But yes such old GPU will not run VR stuff.
