Is my CPU bottlenecking my GTX 1050 Ti?

just upgraded from 660(broken) to 1050ti. and i ran gta 5. Strange thing is I dont constantly getting 60 fps on high settings, even my 660 can get it . I am only getting around 45fps /\.Is my cpu bottlenecking ?
I am also using msi afterburner monitoring and i found out that my cpu is at 100% usage but GPU isn't .
My specs are :
I5 -4440 3.1 ghz
2x4G corsair ddr3
GTX 1050 ti
Msi z87 gd65 gaming mobo

did you remove the 660 driver and get the 1050ti drivers?

Even "if" it bottlenecked the gtx 1050ti it is still better than the GTX660 and you would not see lower fps on the gtx1050ti.

Remove ^ your old drivers properly with DDU and install fresh gpu drivers.

i would say yes, but a slower cpu can run good eyecandy with geforce gtx 1050 ti, but a faster cpu is a beautiful thing to have no stress. means: a fast cpu can support a good gfx board, but a fast gfx board cant support a slow cpu. you need a fast gpu for eyecandy. in my opinion a fast gpu is the better choice if u cant buy a faster cpu.

Hours cpu is more than enough for a 1050 ti my 3rd gen i5 is good

Did you get on the gpu driver clean up because there's no way in hell a GTX1050ti is going to get less than a GTX660.

I'd say those vids ^ blow your bottleneck theory to crap, get busy on the drivers and or scan the PC with superantispyware and Malwarebytes both free.

wew his i54440 with 1050 ti gets 70fps average while i am only getting 45.Time to scans for my computer then. Thanks for the information alot ! :)

reinstall window this fix anything software related
grab the media creation tools https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

and make a bootable usb stick with it then go to bios or f11-f12 after turning on the pc and boot from the usb you made
choose 64bit then you will have a window to activate window

,do "i dont have a key"
(it will activate itself atfer installation since you already had a activated window )

then do "custom" you will then get into a list of partition all you have to do is delete them all then "next" this will proceed to install window once your pc restart you can remove your usb so it doesnt boot into it again (or set bios to boot from your drive)

If your CPU is at 100% usage then id make sure its the game causing it and not something in the background

No, your cpu is not bottlenecking the gpu. i5 4440 is plenty to run up to 1060. Only with 1070 would a bottleneck occur.

Use a program called DisplayDriverUninstaller to remove the gpu drivers and then install them fresh. Alternatively, just reinstall whole Windows.

GTA 5 often ramps quad core / 4 thread cpus to %100.
