Any IPS QHD G-SYNC monitor with small stand?
I was almost about to buy the Acer XB271HU but it occurred to me that I should check the dimensions of the base of the stand to ensure it would fit on my desk and to my horror I saw on the Acer website that the monitor is a colossal 26.8cm deep including the base. Is this correct?

I currently have a larger 32" monitor that has a stand base that's only 17.1cm deep. The issue is that there is already very little spare room on the desk left and my keyboard only just fits, so it looks like the Acer wouldn't fit on my desk (I rent the room so can't replace the furniture).

I've also checked the equivalent 27" IPS QHD 144Hz G-SYNC alternatives from Asus, AOC and Viewsonic. They are all noticeably deeper than current monitor, which doesn't really make any sense as my current monitor is a larger 32" model.

Is there any equivalent monitor out there with a stand base less than 18cm deep?

Thanks in advance.

The XB271HU does have a fairly massive stand, but it comes out in a V shape.

Not a completely up-to-date picture, but I think it would help you to see what it looks like when you can see it in real space with known dimensions. The desk is 59x29 1/2 inch.

If it is too large for typical front placement, you could always do an angled placement to the side since it has V shaped legs.

Or get a replacement stand. It is VESA mount standard, so the options are almost limitless.

So it turns out that the dimensions for my current monitor were incorrect on the manufacturer’s website. I don’t know how AOC got the 17cm they claim but it’s actually about 23cm deep when I used the measuring tape after I got back from work today. This is great news as it means that whilst the Acer XB271HU is still sadly off limits for having a too large base, the AOC AGON AG271QX will fit snugly - having the shallowest stand base of all the four 27” IPS 1440p G-SYNC high refresh rate monitors currently on the market.

So I don’t have to resort to using a 24” TN panel like I was afraid I’d have to compromise with.

Nice. Glad you found a solution!
