I don't think I had this issue with my previous basic 60Hz monitor (I was using Vsync than..But now I use only Gsync Since I bought the asus monitor)
Ask at nvidia forum for the best current drivers that work well with g-sync, then if you have Windows 10 CU or FCU, start optimizing your os, put the power plan to high-performance, turn off all game mode / game dvr, disable fullscreen optimizations in each game .exe file, if it still feels choppy and you get stuttering, time to try the best current gaming os and that is Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 1607 build (Anniversary).
The reason I am not using high performance mode in windows is because I have a 4.6 overlcock on my 4790K at 1.3 v, and I set the bios Vcore to "adaptive mode" (so the voltage will go down when not neccesary) and high performance mode will keep the voltage constantly on 1.3 (as well as the frequency at 4.6).
