MSI Afterburner + RTSS is the most used by people and the best, as you can customize it however you want.
If you have an AMD gpu, you can use their simple monitoring via their Control panel.

MSI afterburner + rivatuner

MSI Afterburner + RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) is the most popular and reliable option. Both programs are required; RTSS has the OSD, Afterburner has the controls and options for it.

Ryzen Master does not have any kind of OSD feature but Radeon Software does if you have an AMD GPU (it's part of the AMD GPU driver). From my experience though, it's very finicky and doesn't like to display all of the time.

These programs actually caused my system to become unstable and very unresponsive. Thanks for your response but I don't think I'm going to use that again.

UNless you use them to change clocks and things they'd just be working as an overlay and cause no instability. If you changed clocks and stuff before and it was unstable the overclock was higher than the component could handle. Not the softwares fault. All you had to do was lower the overclock back to a stable figure.

I'v used MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner Statistics Server for years.
There is nothing that could course system instability unless you change the clocks.

I am using an older version v4.6.2.157345 I got from guru3d website years ago with no problems

I had lots of issues because of AB from black screens, fan curve going crazy, to driver and/or Windows crashes, even when just using it for monitoring. (with an AMD GPU)

Since i deleted it everything is fine and wattman works great.

You could use HWiNFO with RTSS instead of afterburner with RTSS.
I'v never done it but there is a YouTube tutorial about it.

If using AMD GPU, then MSI AB might not be wanted or needed.
To which you can do the same via HwInfo64 + RivaTuner

OP appears to be using an NVIDIA GPU currently, Afterburner will not cause issues unless you manually change the clocks and other GPU settings

All I usually change for my NVIDIA GPUs is Power Boost to the max and un-link the Power+Temp Limits and set Temp Limit to 90*C but point the priority towards the Power Boost Limit. If needed (which usually does need to be changed) I change the Fan-Curve so I don't have to pick a static manual Fan %

But yes I've been using MSI AB + RTSS since XP was the everyday WinOS for Gaming.
Just be sure to get the latest BETA of each from trusted source, like GURU3D.com
And hold off on Windows Feature Updates for a few months until better drivers and updates to such apps as these come out. As Win10 Feature Updates tend to break such things for a while.
