If you have an AMD gpu, you can use their simple monitoring via their Control panel.
Ryzen Master does not have any kind of OSD feature but Radeon Software does if you have an AMD GPU (it's part of the AMD GPU driver). From my experience though, it's very finicky and doesn't like to display all of the time.
UNless you use them to change clocks and things they'd just be working as an overlay and cause no instability. If you changed clocks and stuff before and it was unstable the overclock was higher than the component could handle. Not the softwares fault. All you had to do was lower the overclock back to a stable figure.
There is nothing that could course system instability unless you change the clocks.
I am using an older version v4.6.2.157345 I got from guru3d website years ago with no problems
I had lots of issues because of AB from black screens, fan curve going crazy, to driver and/or Windows crashes, even when just using it for monitoring. (with an AMD GPU)
Since i deleted it everything is fine and wattman works great.
I'v never done it but there is a YouTube tutorial about it.

To which you can do the same via HwInfo64 + RivaTuner
But yes I've been using MSI AB + RTSS since XP was the everyday WinOS for Gaming.
Just be sure to get the latest BETA of each from trusted source, like GURU3D.com
And hold off on Windows Feature Updates for a few months until better drivers and updates to such apps as these come out. As Win10 Feature Updates tend to break such things for a while.
