samsung earphones microphone not working

they've been working fine on my windows 10 laptop but the microphone won't show up nor work on my new windows 7 ultimate pc, could anyone help?

Is it a laptop as well, or a desktop PC? The latter usually do not support the 3 channel 3.5mm jack. You'd need a Y-splitter to split Stereo from the mic and use the respective green and pink ports.

Desktops do not have a single jack that supports Earphone + Mic in a single jack, many Laptops for some years have had this. For Desktops you will need a
1x 3.5mm 4pole Female -to- 2x 3.5mm 3pole Male adapter.
