in this case their system requirements are too vague so I have no Idea when all they mention is something like this
quad core cpu
8gb of ram
DX11 gpu with 1gb of Vram (they say dedicated Vram but most game still run on shared Vram , and sometime those games still run on a Igpu even if they say ''dedicated graphic card only'')
but there are older games that are gonna work like Left 4 dead 2 which is on sales right now. xD
and im sure your laptop can cover rest with virtual mem, but someday that will not be enough if game devs says diffrently
do note game says Memory: 8 GB RAM, that might be a issue, but you can hope virtual mem can cover it.
You can't replace a laptops GPU as they are soldered to the board, just like a laptops CPU. At best the most you can replace on a laptop is it's internal drive and RAM.
If you want a better GPU and/or CPU in a laptop you need to buy a complete new laptop. That's why a desktop is better wen it comes to upgrading. Sure if you need to travel then a laptop is what you need but you need to replace the whole thing when you want to upgrade
This is true for desktops where an upgrade in GPU is possible. If the user has a low end or pretty OEM PSU, then a higher performance GPU will mean the system can't handle the upgrade because the PSU cannot supply enough power.
It depends on what the old GPU was before the upgrade, but the point is, it's not as simple as just adding a better GPU, when the computer can have one added, that is.
2. Scroll down to find the system specs. for that game. Minimum and recommended.
3. Go to this site and compare those specs with what you have :
https://www.userbenchmark.com/
The compare tabs are all on top. If you look at the comparisons and they are very close to what you have, as compared to what is on the Steam Store, you can probably run that game, even if you have to turn down a few settings for graphics.
EDIT...........
Some games specifically state in the system requirements that they will NOT run on integrated graphics, which is what you have in that laptop. They may state that the game requires a dedicated GPU, or graphics card you can call it. So you need to make sure you carefully read the system specs in the Steam store for that game.
Also, because you only have 8GB RAM, you have less than ideal RAM for a gaming system as well, you're better off with 16GB.
People having to rely on iGPUs because of video card stock and pricing is just a sad reality, more so for Intel users than AMD (APU) users because Intel's integrated graphics don't perform nearly as well as AMD's, though AMD's APUs sacrifice a lot of CPU performance as a consequence, and it's bad enough that when going from the Vega iGPU to something very high end like a 6800-XT or 3080, you're also better off upgrading from the AMD APU to a normal CPU because the APUs are still awful in comparison to their CPUs in raw performance so they're really only good for low budget systems and for relying on the iGPU alone.
MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7 SP1 (64 bit only), Windows 8 (64 bit only), Windows 10 (64 bit only)
Processor: X64 Dual Core CPU, 2+ GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Discrete Non Mobile GPU with 1 GB Ram <----------------------
DirectX: Version 11
So this is one of those games I am talking about where a dedicated GPU is needed, which you do not have in that laptop.
It is not "discrete" :
https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=what+is+a+discrete+gPU
What does discrete GPU mean?
Discrete graphics is a GPU that is a separate from the processor. Discrete graphics has its own dedicated memory that is not shared with the CPU. ... However, since a discrete graphics has its own memory source and power source, it provides higher performance than integrated graphics.
So if you want to compare another game using the site I have shown, feel free to pick one single game and I can try to show you how to do the comparison, if you need help.
pretty sure factorio should run , it's officially support the Intel HD 5500 and from your cpu model you probably have something better.
castle and Kindoms should run too , Intel HD 4600 is much older then the Intel HD from your CPU too (it's like 4th generation Icore CPU)
Astroneer might run but there is a big chance the performances are gonna be too bad for the game to be playable.
But dont even try assassins creed valhalla
intel hd is on 2nd gen to 7th gen i series
some improvements over earlier intel hd
but as stated the higher number after the uhd, the better version of the igpu
uhd 630 desktop, sits near a gts 250, not about half of a gt 1030 performance
good enough for 10+yr old titles, but not newer games at acceptable fps
