Unless you're minmaxing or already have strong opinions about using 4:3 starting with your native resolution/aspect ratio is fine.
16:10 I miss(ed) it. It was fairly common before 2010. But these days you'd be hard pressed to find 16:10 monitors. Especially ones with the same features as modern monitors. It was nice having a bit more vertical real-estate but nothing I'd go out of my way or compromise for.
Well clearly you're talking about a very specific game. But you asked a very general question, and didn't provide some more specific information to narrow the answers down. As a result people provided you with general answers to the question you asked.
You might think about posting on the game's forum. Or being very specific about what you're talking about when posting on a general forum. You can assume everyone knows what you're talking about if you want, but I can promise you being explicit will nearly always yield better results.
Also, what tournament or league let's you bring your own equipment? If you play professionally, as in, it being your job, then you probably have to use something that has certain specifications. I doubt they will let them bring their own computers, because that would seem amaturic. That's like playing professional soccer in a leisure suit on flip-flops. I doubt FIFA will agree to that.
