4:3 vs 16:9 vs 16:10 Resolution
ive played with every type of resolution at this point the only thing i notice with 4:3 is it becomes zoomed in and you cant see anything out of your side view, its a big drawback for me tbh but i see that pros are all using 4:3 and i used to before i got a 75 hz monitor but i got used to 16:9, so basically i just want to know what do yall think of each and i want to know your reasoning for saying one is better than another because ive tried all of them and dont really see much of a difference so i dont get why all the pros play with 4:3

Low resolution is Better for me bcos or else my pc will blast
Pro players don't care about the game looking good. They opt for higher fps/better performance and less stuff on the screen detracting from what they're focusing on.
16:9 it's what most monitors are running at.

Unless you're minmaxing or already have strong opinions about using 4:3 starting with your native resolution/aspect ratio is fine.

16:10 I miss(ed) it. It was fairly common before 2010. But these days you'd be hard pressed to find 16:10 monitors. Especially ones with the same features as modern monitors. It was nice having a bit more vertical real-estate but nothing I'd go out of my way or compromise for.
thank you for your help, i play at 16:9 but i still get wrecked by ppl on stretched, idk what to do

Well clearly you're talking about a very specific game. But you asked a very general question, and didn't provide some more specific information to narrow the answers down. As a result people provided you with general answers to the question you asked.

You might think about posting on the game's forum. Or being very specific about what you're talking about when posting on a general forum. You can assume everyone knows what you're talking about if you want, but I can promise you being explicit will nearly always yield better results.

sorry, new to steam!
I'm no skilled Counter-Strike player, so this might not be how everyone who's really invested into the game feels, but wouldn't the disadvantage of not being able to see as much on your sides outweigh getting higher frames by using 4:3 over 16:9? Unless you're really lacking GPU power, then in the day and age of where even modest ones can push hundreds of frames in that game, I don't get it. I get the point of using 4:3 is you're playing on a CRT with that ratio, but not on a modern widescreen LCD.

I don't think so. Maybe in some 20 years old game with community having no idea how PCs work, but surely not in modern games.
Those are ratios, not resolutions. They are the smallest number of horizontal-, and vertical pixels, that explain the ratio of your screen's pixels, how they relate to each other; what their ratio is, horizontally and vertically.

Also, what tournament or league let's you bring your own equipment? If you play professionally, as in, it being your job, then you probably have to use something that has certain specifications. I doubt they will let them bring their own computers, because that would seem amaturic. That's like playing professional soccer in a leisure suit on flip-flops. I doubt FIFA will agree to that.

use the native res or for games that do not support the res, use gpu control panel option to scale (not stretch) or center the res on the display to keep the aspect ratio correct

That, plus I'd strongly recommend trying out "integer scale". It might add black bars, but will produce sharp image. This is especially important for old low res games and emulation.
