Why does everyone hate the RTX cards?
Really, why? I don't get it.

you can do raytracing with any card but not with this perfomance...so the rtx will be the first cards which can handle raytracing with better perfomance(and its still not enough for it)....but its still the first gen of rtx cards so it would be trash...it would be much better waiting for the next rtx cards
anyway there are not much games out which will use raytracing at this moment....

The first dedicated chips for real time raytracing. Real time Ray Tracing is new to gaming, but has been around for awhile, so it isn't as if they are starting from scratch.

It is also a hybrid Ray Tracing.

You can feel it is trash all you want. That doesn't mean it will be.

As for games:
https://www.pcgamer.com/21-games-will-support-nvidias-real-time-ray-tracing-here-are-demos-of-tomb-raider-and-control/

21 game in line for Ray Tracing support. That is more games then most consoles have on release these days.

You could also wait for the numbers from reviews before denouncing a new tech

Agreed. Always wait for those benchmarks. They should be out on the 19th for the 2080s.
wow i dont tell that raytracing itself is trash lol no....but the first rtx cards for raytracing would be trash...oh you mean the rt cores? was much reading about that shaders do the work for raytracing and not thenew rt cores itself...
21 games....i think there would be games listed like bf....mh k they using just reflections and not the rest because weak perfomance for that but...ok...
im wondering that you all not still have multiple titans....

Performance hasn't even been shown.

Because those are not reasonably priced or intended for gaming.

I'm waiting for benchmarks and plan on getting a 2070 at the end of 2019 (entire gaming budget for that year).

nope but its new nvidia have too do marketing...so i think they would show in the demos what is possible at this moment...
oh man i think at the end of 2019 you will have other choices...

They have videos showing what is possible. There is even a thread in this forum with several of them posted.

Not likely. AMD hasn't been doing too well, imho.

its a nice video....but how powerfull is the system behind....and how much gpu's....(no audio at the moment if they explain it)

As it stands titans made no sense with pascal, for Turing however, the ti is a titan and is looking to have a solid performance increase, plus I've saved and budgeted for it this time, with that said, I'm not doing anything until I see some actual numbers especially on nvlink.

With regards to number of games using RTX features, it sounds like it is very simple to add in the feature into existing games to some degree, so I'd expect the list of games to grow.

However, everyone saying g this first release won't be perfect are 100% correct, first version s if anything nearly always lack features and have some issues, this is one reason I'm looking at 2 cards to push past the difficulty of ray tracing by brute force lol.

Though. If the numbers don't end up backing up what I have expected for months, I'll happily keep my money in my bank as it's not like the 1080ti NEEDS to be replaced, though I do want to try out the new tech, I'm not going to throw !obey away without seeing a solid performance gain.

Two video card makers, AMD and Nvidia.

Intel is mainly onboard and has never been nearly as powerful.

Number of GPUs, either one or two. Audio has little to no performance impact and is not needed when showing a demo of the visuals, so that isn't even an issues.

That is another reason I am waiting a year to get one.

2070 is at the top of my budget.

It will be more powerful, and far better then by 970. Since you can turn off Ray Tracing as well, it should still out do a good amount of the 10XX cards as well, making it worth it.

AMD is doing really well right now, just the GPU side is a bit lacking anything special, however they are on target to release 7nm you'd by the end of the year, albeit not consumer grade, the huge due shrink alone should bring with it alot of performance and efficiency gains, though, if they ever aim for the very high end for consumer market is questionable as aiming for mainstream would be much cheaper and a wider choice overall.

And the GPU is what I stated.

I have a Ryzen 7 1700 already.

7nm isn't really my concern. Performance and reliability is. Of the three people I know with an AMD GPU, all three have had issues with them, so I am holding my breath at this point.

Not cheaper if you have to go through the headache of RMAing two cards, one after the other. Brother in-law still has the third in the box and is considering just selling it so he doen't have to deal with it any more.

i mean i dont have audio at this moment if they explain the system which they use.
so because the choice...i dont inform about the roadmap from nvidia...but are you thinking they will release nothing next year(NVIDIA)?

Sorry for the misunderstanding with the audio.

Yes, they explained a bit in the video.

Only things due out are the GTX 2060 (rumors has it they had a RTX version, but dropped it) and lesser cards.

From what I have read, there won't be any "Ti" cards except for the RTX 2080Ti as that may be intended to replace the Titan series of cards (as I said earlier, with everything getting a bump up).

To 2080 Ti make be 2080 Titan and not 2080 Titanium.

People are not sold on the raytracing technology being a justifiable reason why the price is set so high. With everyone not knowing how much better framerate games will have in comparison to the last gen cards it is easy to assume the prices are outlandish. Hell even if the RTX 2080 Ti is twice as powerful as a GTX 1080 Ti people will always find a way to be negative towards something they can't afford.

From what I have been reading, then 2080 ti is supposed to replace the Titan line of cards, so every care was basicaly bumped up a notch.

20XX and what they basicaly replace.

2060 = 1070
2070 = 1080
2080 = 1080ti
2080ti = Titan

The price isn't much higher. It's just the product stack has shifted. That's what people can't seem to wrap their minds around. RTX 2080 Ti does -NOT- replace the 1080 Ti, it replaces the $1200 Titan Xp.

Apparently consumers don't like big price jumps. Who knew?

But that's just the thing. It's not a "big price jump".

GTX 1080 Ti @ Launch - $699, RTX 2080 @ Launch - $839, an increase of only +$140.
Titan Xp @ Launch - $1200, RTX 2080 Ti @ Launch - $1299, an increase of only +$99.
