Game requirements lowering (Darkest Dungeon)
Is it possible to lower the minimal system requirements of a game? I mean, i have seen youtube guides to do so for particular games, like GTA IV or Witcher 3, but is there any general guide? Or if not, can I at least lower the requirements of Darkest Dungeon? (yeah, I seriously can't run it, my laptop is garbage :D)
Thanks in advance and umm.. I'm not sure if my question belongs in this topic, so I'm sorry if it doesn't :D

When a game has a certain hardware requirement that they feel is adequate to run a game, they generally test it on various hardware platforms to verify that it will run OK. The only thing you can do is reduce the graphics settings for the game and hope for the best.

I was able to run the game on Windows XP with a 10 year old graphics card (an Nvidia 7800gtx) when my main graphics driver died a couple of years back. The game ran fine most of the time but it could slow down and stutter some times. Mostly when certain visual effects took place.

Recent patches may have made that configuration less viable and I;m grateful to have a computer capable of running the game once again. I'm not sure how much you could go below the requirements.

What hardware do you wish to run it on?

I have no issue with a N2840 laptop which is very low hardware.
But if you want to decrease hardware load, just go in window mode instead of full screen, disable options such as blur effect...

I have Dell Latitude E6410.. It has an acceptable processor, RAM etc, my biggest issue is the video card (Intel HD Graphics, 64MB VRAM). For Darkest Dungeon, I would need an OpenGL 3.2 compliant card, but I have only 2.1 and cannot upgrade.

Last intel HD graphics drivers for Win7 64 bits here (February 2013): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/fr/download/22521/?product=47341 but I don't know if they support OpenGL 3.2

I have Win10, but.. doesn't matter, I already have latest drivers and OpenGL 2.1 is the best version that my video card will run. And the problem is that when I click the Darkest Dungeon icon, it tells me that I need 3.2 and won't let me play the game at all. So I guess there's no possible way for me to run it. Well, unless I lower its requirements, which may not be possible either.
