Problem with Win95 game in Virtualbox, no sound.
Game runs fine except I get no sound!

Trying to get a Dr Who game 'Destiny of the Doctors' running in VirtualBox, everything visual works great but with zero audio. Windows sounds work ok.

Any ideas?

I think it was Warcraft 2 back in the day, that had this test where you had to setup a few wonky things. After you sucessfully chosen the correct random settings a voice would say "your soundcard works perfectly" in an annoying british accent.

Try ditching vbox, and run directly on win10 - here[tardisbuilders.com] someone mentions they run it directly from the CD, you only loose the intro vid... worth a try

I solved it! :smug:
Ditched win95, tried win98, still didn't work but dxdiag did work this time and virtual-box hardware acceleration wasn't working, switched to directX software sound and it all works.:hype: :hee:

The test is DXdiag, for me it actually failed.. until I disabled hardware sound acceleration, which isn't needed at all given the power of modern CPUs.
