how to bios update

i downloaded it from the site but it jsut gives me a .3c0 file what is that and how do i update it

Thats most likely the version of the file, since BIOS basically has no file format.

Copy the file to a FAT32 formatted empty flash drive and let BIOS find it. Proceed with intructions on screen.

Be careful and follow directions exactly. Without Bios your PC can not boot at all. You want to make sure you do it right

it really no magic. You put the file on an USB stick. get into Bios and tell Bios inside to Bios to update. Then you browse there for the file and just let Bios run this. It tells you not to shut down meanwhile.
Nothing special, nothign dangerous. Also most modern MoBo have at least 2x BIOS

Yupp, BIOS update is far less dangerous on newer systems as it used to be before.
Also it used to take quite the time, but on my current ASRock mobo it takes like a minute, restart and is done.

It used to be very dangerous. People messed it up and then your screwed. You basically had to buy a new bios before you could boot up your PC. Even on a new PC however I am not sure what would happen if you turned off the power during the procedure. I don't know if they have a recovery feature built into them. This might still brick your PC as I think the bios downloader is in the Bios chip itself ..Where else could it be. So its a good idea not to take updating your Bios lightly and that was the point I was trying to get across. Don't be afraid to do it. But also make sure to follow directions.

many motherboards have softwares which make it easy.
You can update bios running a software from your desktop.
Very easy and no risks.
What motherboard do you have?
