Does having a higher hertz on your monitor reduce it's lifespan?
My monitor can go up to 144hz but currently it's defaulted at 60hz, but in games it can go to 144hz, so should i leave it on 60hz all the time when not playing any games or should i set it to 144hz all the time.

Hertz doesn't effect the lifespan of your monitor, what makes you think it would? It's just a higher refresh rate. Leave it at whatever suits your system - lower settings are mostly there for troubleshooting.

Ah, because i thought it makes it work harder and such like overclocking, i dont know much about this sort of thing.

Well, the backlight will be constantly on regardless of what hz it operates at.. so it will take the same amount of time to degrade either way.

It makes absolutely no difference. Overclocking is something very, very specific only only applies to certain types of logical processor - the kind found in CPUs and Graphics Cards. You can't overclock a monitor any more than you can overclock a toaster or a teapot - they don't contain any kind of processor.

Actually, you can overclock monitors and TVs. Like, the Acer Predator OC's to 165hz, and there are Korean monitors that OC to 75Hz or 100Hz while being the price of a 60hz monitor.

Pretty sure that reaching 144hz on a 144hz monitor is not OCing though. And usually, OCing doesnt reduce the lifespan by an amount that people will notice.

Not really something to worry about unless you are still using a CRT screen :p

With LCD monitors is really about the response time but the light tube inside them will likely die before the LCD panel does.
