IMO the Rival 100 is still in the "cheap mouse" category. Compared to something like the Logitech G502 with 12k DPI, it only has 4k DPI. It's worth the extra $20 to upgrade.
An expensive mouse vs a cheap, dollar store one is worlds apart in quality. Durability, sensors, features, buttons. My personal mouse is the G502 and it's the absolute best mouse I ever used. Easily worth the $80 price tag.
Make sure you try before you buy, mice are very personal and what one person finds comfortable might hunt another's hands. I would start with classics like the G502, if that doesn't work expand your search. Don't ignore wierd shaped mice, some of the most comfortable mice I've held are wierd mutants like the Saitek RAT.
And now it's only $50.
I hear ya , some ppl cant justify spending 40+ bucks on a mouse cause they look at it like, " Well it just a mouse " I just need to point a click with it , but like stated by others when spending a few extra bucks it can go a long way with many advantages, like 8-9 years ago I was at the same crossroad and ended up spending $50 bucks on my mouse, a Logitech MX518 and believe it or not its still my go to mouse today with literally over 10k hours of gaming and everyday use and still it performs as good as the day I 1st plugged it in ..
