'Displayport no signal" when GPU plugged in but intergrated CPU graphics work fine
I usualy dont like to ask for help because I know people can be busy but this particular problem has been going on for a week now :(

So last friday I was playing a game (tomb raider to be precise) and the gpu was running absolutely fine when suddenly the screen just went black. The computer was still running but my VG248QE monitor just said "Displayport no signal". I then turned off the computer and turned it back on again. The computer booted up fine but there was no signal to the monitor. The computer beeped every 30 seconds (which its never done before) and the mother board had the vga light on. I also noticed the fans on my gpu were spinning but the msi logo on the side kept on turning off then lighting up again.

At first i thought my gpu had just died but its only 8 months old. Is is a driver problem instead?

Here are my PC specs:
GPU:MSI GTX 980ti
CPU:Intel i5 6600
MOBO: MSI B150M Mortar
RAM: Kingston HyperX fury black 16gb
SSD: Crucial MX300 275GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb 3.5"7200RPM
CASE: Deepcool tesseract
PSU: XFX 650W

Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

It's not drivers if you do not get a signal during post.

I had the same problem with the last 9 series MSI card I had. It blew and took the pci-e slot with it. Had to replace the card and motherboard.

Mine was only 6 weeks old at the time. I had the retailer replace it with a different brand and that card is still going strong in my son's pc.
Call MSI. You probably have a defective card and it should be under warranty.
Thanks for the replies. Do you think this might have been caused by a virus?
