USB 3.0 transfer speed starts high then slows down
Hi guys, I just bought a 16GB SanDisk USB Drive which is suppose to have a transfer rate of 130mb/s. When I tried copying my old files (10GB), the starting speed is going fast at 40mb/s but when it reaches 4%, it drops to 10mb/s. My motherboard supports USB 3.0 and I have tried reinstalling the drivers, formatting the drive as NTFS and optimising it for performance but the speed still starts fast and drops.

Can someone please help.... Thanks in advance!

The reported SanDisk speeds are peak or "up to" speeds.

It is "up to" 130 MB/sec (for reads only).

There are professional SD cards which do sustained speeds but they cost considerably more.

Lots of small files will always go slower than one large file. There is nothing that can be done about that.
