XCOM 2
MacOS vs Windows?
Is there a noticeable difference in a playing on either OS for a game that is configured for both Windows and MacOS?

Yea gaming = Linux or Windows OS; Mac is the worst outside of good Apple apps, like for video editing / rendering. Hardly anyone out there supports MacOS for games.

But again that is with everything iOS from Apple aside...

If you have an Intel based Mac, which basically all have been for many years now, u can just download Windows 10 and install it; u don't need a key to run Win10 fully.

Linux not for games. I use it since early '90.

Support's getting better because of things like Vulkan, but Windows is really the way to go for gaming because of DirectX

Linux runs most games just fine.

If Steam has the "SteamOS" icon in the Store Page, then the app/game supports Linux OS

Generally performance is lesser when in Linux, at least from the Gaming aspect. But it is doable. I can assure you, the experience with the same hardware will not be as good for gaming when compared to Windows OS; at least at this present time.

Maybe if more Devs would stop being lazy, since porting something that works in Windows is not hard to do and get it working in Linux via OpenGL or Vulkan... Game Devs are basically feeding from the hands of Microsoft and vice-versa.

Linux however is a great OS for everything outside of Gaming.

The reason why I ask is because I wanna play XCOM 2 on a new Mac I'm getting but I don't know if it would be different on MacOS vs. Windows (It's playable on both and I exceed recommended specs). I guess based on the answers it would be better to play on Windows lol.

I'm not buying a mac for games. It's for work. I just happen to be getting a new computer (I get to keep) that's partially subsidized by my company, that's why I was wondering.

I cannot see any difference between X-Com on Linux and Windows.
