If you have an Intel based Mac, which basically all have been for many years now, u can just download Windows 10 and install it; u don't need a key to run Win10 fully.
Linux runs most games just fine.
If Steam has the "SteamOS" icon in the Store Page, then the app/game supports Linux OS
Generally performance is lesser when in Linux, at least from the Gaming aspect. But it is doable. I can assure you, the experience with the same hardware will not be as good for gaming when compared to Windows OS; at least at this present time.
Maybe if more Devs would stop being lazy, since porting something that works in Windows is not hard to do and get it working in Linux via OpenGL or Vulkan... Game Devs are basically feeding from the hands of Microsoft and vice-versa.
Linux however is a great OS for everything outside of Gaming.
