nvlddmkm display driver stopped responding
Been getting this error since April...didn't notice it until recently in the event viewer (checked when my games kept minimizing to tray for no reason).

So...randomly my games minimize to the tray and crash. Sound is fine the whole time, but I can't access my desktop, task manager, or anything until the game closes. Screen blinks to black and comes back to my desktop with the game in the tray.

I've tried reinstalling various drivers, messing with power, checking temperatures, etc. with no luck. I haven't installed any new hardware recently and can't for the life of me figure out why this started happening. I also know virtually nothing about computers...

In the event viewer I also noticed this error being spammed prior to display error starting:

Everything is stock. Appreciate any assistance.

I've also looked online for solutions. There's a thread on the GEForce forums with no offical response or solution. Just want to figure out if it's a driver problem or a hardware problem.

GPU doesn't get higher than 70 when playing (stays around 65 on Killing floor 2 and around 70 on battlegrounds).

You can try running DDU to clean the drivers and reinstalling them.

If that doesn't help, try down clocking your gpu. If that solves it, it may be time to RMA it. I would first try it in a different PC if you can, just in case it is your motherboard or psu at fault.

I just started checking and have noticed my motherboard running in the 50's and 60's. No clue why though. It actually went into the 70's on Battlegrounds yesterday (but I didn't receive an error).

It's sitting at 55 right now when playing Armello. Card is at 61.

Temperatures were the exact same when playing Squad too...so I guess it's not overheating.

Do an extensive memory test on your RAM. This is what I'd use
