Games running with 1-2fps
My girlfriend has an Asus gamer laptop, with an i7-6700 2.6Ghz, 8gb ram, gtx960m, and win10. We tried Doom demo, which ran on medium settings with 40-45 fps, and 30-35 on high.
Then we tried Elder Scrolls Online, which's menu ran with 1-2 fps, that was also the case with The Forest, we couldn't get past the menus. The laptop has the newest nvidia driver. I've ran out of ideas. What can be the problem guys?:

Turn down the game settings and make sure the laptop is using the Nvidia GPU not the intel HD.

Yesterday I noticed that the laptop used the Intel HD graphics card. Then I disabled that in device manager, and enabled the nvidia gpu.
We used the geforce experience which set almost everything to high or ultra, but we cannot do anything, the menu itself runs with 1 fps. :(

NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings
Set GPU to: NVIDIA High Performance
Power Management: Prefer Max Performance

When I try to click on Nvidia control panel, I get this message:

"NVIDIA Settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU."

I installed the newest nvidia driver for this model, and after that it also displayed this message.
I've already disables the integrated graphics card in device manager, and enabled the nvidia gpu.

Yea when Laptops are new; first thing to do is go to Control Panel and uninstall all the Programs that are Drivers.

Intel, NVIDIA, Realtek...

Then reboot as needed and download the very latest of what you need from the Chipset Makers.

NVIDIA Geforce (Mobile series)

Weird because for example Conan Exiles runs with a decent 35-40 fps on medium/high settings, but we cannot get past Elder Scrolls Online's menu running with 1 fps. :D

It might display "1 FPS" on an FPS Counter, but as long as navigating the menu system is ok and smooth, then just ignore the FPS #

For an FPS Counter, use the one provided to you via Steam Client > Settings > In-Game > Select where you want it to display (I find Bottom-Left to be best) and then select "High Contrast Color"
