By not being able to purchase i mean my parents will not purchase :P
I feel for you bro, this is a good idea, and should be implemented
I wanted to gift my best mate some credits for Stronghold as I owe him a couple of game purchases. I totally agree - I'd spend more if this existed. Come on Steam wake up. Kaching Kaching!
I know ALOT of people irl who have strict parents and what not...I mean people complain children shouldn't be playing on game site like this and game communitys are arseholes but the thing is when they were 13-15 they played games so :P Give us young uns a chance
You can get Steam Wallet cards at Gamestop and Best Buy. I think they come i $20 cards.
Steam wallet exchange would be a measure too prone to abuse. To extents really harmful for Valve as a company (Money laundering)

It's a measure whose risks greatly outnumber it's benefits. It's really unlikely for such a measure to be implemented.

To put it bluntly, if you have such a hassle to make a single purchase on Steam, you are not the target customer they are heading to.
I know there is alot of bad areas within this gifting thing but atleast put prepaid cards in the UK
Gamestops and bestbuys anit in the uk :(

That's up to Gamestop UK. They are already selling them on Germany, i'm surprised they are not yet over the UK...
Is no Gamestop UK ...I really hope they bring there stores over here....would help me with alot of games that arn't steam too :3
Yes but my problem is simple - I now live in Moscow Russia and my best friend lives in the UK. I spend A LOT of money on Steam games and so does he. If by your comment above you mean that if we are unable to spend a little money via wallet for INTERNAL GAME PURCHASES and NOT new games then what is the point in Steam offering the "Free to play" genre? Plus as far as I am concerned if a company like Steam cannot set up a workable business model for such obvious and small transactions, their business departments are a disgrace. Look at the mobile phone market - those small pounds add up to become millions. As for the "money laundering" comment - I worked in a bank. Just what activity would breach money laundering here? If you are talking theft of ID and overpurchase of goods, well that is why we use credit cards as they carry insurance. People aren't buying Steam credits with terrorist money if that is what you were alluding to. And last point - yes all of these companies do provide games cards but I am in Russia (so can't buy them, nor could i just post one on) and they also do not exist in the UK. So it's a joke. This is the business Steam is in - so they need to do it properly.
Rant over.
If you're in russia just use the kiosks to put money into your account.

If your parents wont put $5 of steam wallet on your account well then that's the way things roll. Or you could say get a job and buy a prepaid card instead.

A pre-paid Visa or such should still work. Sometimes you need to go to their website and fill out some information in order to be able to use at some on-line stores.
Yeah but don't even get me started on the cross border games issues. That took 2 months to resolve so I could buy games with my UK visa cards. I am an expat living here not some kid mate. Fair play to Steam, they did come up with a solution to that one. But to gift my mate creds is a ball ache. Pretty sure I can't stick money into his account in the UK from a Russian machine here.

Steam just offers a download of the f2p games. They offer some package deals too. Other then that, you can buy card for in-game credits. It is up to the developer how they want to handle these transaction, steam has no say in it. If you go through steam, then steam gets a cut of the money. F2p games need all the money they can get. They get more if you buy through them, then if you buy through steam. So why would they want steam to be a middle man with these transactions?
