Well i cant see them doing it... they give you skin already so you can change the color if you want... no much point to also add a change default color

Ok i'll do so in a a few hours as i am behind WiFi that is blocking me from using steam so when i get home i'll post a guide of it here

Give me the instructions on how to SIMPLY change the default background color. For example, your background in your profile is not on default. It's Portal 2.

you get that by levelling up and collecting cards, which i find a bit annoying. i think if you get all the trading cards for a game, than you get backgrounds for it

I don't think so. Look at my level. I'm speaking about the options to change the colors of the default background.

i mean afaik using portal 2 background image can be achieved my getting the cards, at least that's what the trading card faq said, and i don't think it's possible to change the colour

and also, we're talking about profile pages, not the steam client right? at least i'm talking about the first, but the skinning is for the latter
now i just saw that you have saint's row background so idk what

ok so its not so easy... i mean its preety easy.. but.. so i can talk you into it... or make a porgream to do it... but i cant make the pogream so easyley now
so if you want i can help you do it.. and later on il send you a pogream to change steam colors

true... true... but i cant see them makeing it any more officel they made skins to allow you to do it.. its not so hard if you know what to change... right now im looking over it (if you want to see its at: <steam dirctory>/resouce/style/steam.style)
In there you have all the colors sittings of steam that you can change but you will have to close steam and change it
The problem for me right now is to find what one is the backgrund..

Users should be able to change the default background color with a simple click of a mouse after clicking on "Edit Profile." But, nice try though...
