So you can rate a game via your Steam account, without using Metacritic or anything like that.

maybe out of a hundred, and then down the page there are various reviews from other owners of the game or friends who have bought and reviewed it.

But you thinking about the possibility of rating down a game too ?
Because the recommend feature allows you to make a positive review...we don't have the rating down system here in steam...possibly because it is a store and, if users start rating down games, that game will, probably, be low on sales from that point on.

Yeah, I was thinking you enter a number out of 100, if you don't like it you can just give it a low score.

I hate how some of the reviews are fake accounts belonging to the staff who worked on the game...

I think people should be able to +1 the game or -1 the game and its starts at 0 and it goes from there.

I participated from a post later few days ago...people didn't like the idea. I love it. You must be able to make your own review and a score system (1 to 10 our even the common 5 stars)...or you can give scores to sound, music, graphic and other features of the game, so it will calculate the overall score. At that time, in the other forum, people said: "it will take too much effort from steam staff"...I don't think so.

Yeah, it's not like they have to look at every single review, the reviews just get automatically rounded with all the other reviews to get an average score based on everyone's review.

Agreed mostly but seems like many think it will be abuse (as given low scores with no real point) for now we can just put on the reviews we give a 1/100 or 100/100 then a review..

Everything can be abused, including YouTube, people dislike the video on multiple accounts and flag it.

Well, if you ask me, people will have to be responsable to use this feature. You can abuse in the forums, but then you get a ban, or you can not use the forums at all. Same thing with score system. However, it is more dificult, because a score system will represent the way we evaluate the game...Bioshock infinite may be one of the greatest games for me...some other people may think it is terrible (I read that a guy ddn't like because of racism or something). So it will rate it very low...the thing is for us to read, see the argues in the reviws and consider it or not...may be they could implement a reply system, so you can argue with a specific review. The thing is...a review system makes part of steam development and evolution...so we need it implemented, as well as a whole options for us to customize our profile with our own screenshoots and, BTW, send our own screenshots too. THere are threads for this 2 other issues here in steam.
