Steam Portable Console.

I want one. It would be absolutely perfect for a lot of the indie games out on Steam and open up a lot of freedom from my tethered PC when gaming.

They've already streamed steam to Playstation 3 and you can hook your steam up to the TV and play your games on there while using a controller.

No, those are still tethered. I'm talking about a portable console. Something like a 3DS or PSP type of device, running any of the OSs that Steam works on, or even with a new Steam OS.

it wouldn't be shocking if when the steambox is finally released that it wil at least have mobile capabilites. it will probably be able to stream from apps on tablets and smartphones, maybe with gamepad capabilities? if that launches and does well, i'm sure something like a legitimate handheld console will come forward.
