Orienting/Flipping Emoticons In The Direction Of Your Choice

Some emoticons would work rather well if reversed or flipped on their side. It would be nice to have the option of doing so. For example, look at the the ftlhuman and ftlrebel.



If these icons could be flipped on its side, or upside down, you could combine multiple characters and illustrate a scene. I could have two people facing each other, and write a little funny quote under them as a caption.

Or, look at the TF2 sentry.



It only points to the left. This one would also work great if it could be pointed to the right.

What I suggest is adding some kind of syntax that allows you to reorient or flip some emoticons, where it would look decent.

For example, perhaps I could write ;ftlhuman;up; and it would be reoriented to face upwards. Or I could write :sentry;right", and the sentry would now face right instead of left.

Obviously not every icon should gain these abilities, since some of them would just look silly upside down or flipped. But for the ones that are approriate, I think it would add a lot to the emoticon system.
