I didn't even go that far. The OP wants to flaunt her sex around like it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badge of honor.
Stop with the drama and just spit it out. WTF are you talking about?
Why is this an issue? Are you offended by her profile? If so, report her and move on.
Homosexuals (which includes lesbians) is not a gender and transgendered people usually identify as either male or female. Also it would be easy to add a category for "other".
Could you be a bit more patronizing?
Or maybe she just doesn't feel like hiding from people like you?
It's fine to not agree with the idea but you are getting far more worked up over this than you really should. There are women that play games and not all of them want to hide. Get over it.
For such an option to have meaning would require some form of verification. Who's gonna do that? Steam?
Ok, "Honey" was wrong. I apologize for that. I was flipping between a few groups and forgot to put on my civilized hat in this one. I revised my earlier post.
I'm not so much worked up as annoyed at the idea. More women is always a good thing. No question there. I question the need to drag sex into our gaming community. One can already express their sexual orientation in their profile -- through the use of a name or simply saying "I'm a man or woman."
I agree. If may surprise people to know, but the majority of females on Steam currently have gender neutral or even male profiles. They do that to avoid the attention of idiot guys. I think adding gender makes it seem obligatory and frankly many women would be put off by that.
And you could stop being so damn sexist and patronising?
Hey, I already apologized for the "Honey" and fixed it. What's the problem now?
In a male dominated community, some women like to state their gender. That's not flaunting. I mean you could equally say that declaring your nationality is flaunting it. Nope. But some people are proud of who and what they are.
Sexist much?
I mean I hate to say this, but arguments like that are part of the reason many women DON'T declare their gender in the gaming community. And also the reason why some want to stuff it down your throat!!
I mean really guys, if you want more women to be open about their involvement in the community then you have to stop being so sexist and agressive towards them.
I don't see why it can't be optional. Really I just don't understand why you are being so agressive about this.
