Using Gamestop giftcards on Steam...

So, around Christmas time I got a Gamestop giftcard. Well, the problem was, it was on Christmas, so I couldn't use it to buy a Steam Wallet card... So, I was afraid that the games I wanted would be on sale, and I wouldn't have the money to buy it... So my suggestion/idea is that we can use Gamestop giftcards to either purchase a game through Steam, or maybe, they allow you to buy a code for a Steam card online via the Gamestop website, and then you don't have to go to a store? This would make it easier for those of us who are too young to drive and their parents hate video games so they don't enjoy going to Gamestop just to buy a card to buy more games...

I believe it would be up to Gamestop to allow either of those options to happen. Considering the Gamestop giftcard is to be used in Gamestop, though, I highly doubt they'll want you using it directly on Steam. After all, I'd imagine Valve give a percentage cut to Gamestop for every Steam Wallet code they sell.

At their store yes. You use a card there to buy a code for here.

Most places won't let you use a gift card to buy a gift card. You would have to ask Gamestop about their policy on that.

I can at mine, you just give them the card and maybe some cash depending on how much was on the card, and then you buy it.

I've tried at safeway and they refused. :-(
