This one supports it from my understanding, and I think that TF2 does as well.
We will have to wait to see if intrest picks up after the Developer release.
Also, would the triple monitor setup be more taxing on the gpu compared to wqhd? Will my 7970 ghz 3gb be able to handle either setup fairly well?
You could get a HDTV and connect your computer to that. Then you could save on space too. :-P
AMD only allows 2 legacy monitors (VGA, DVI or HDMI) to be enabled simultaneously via passive connections, you will need a active connection beyond 2, meaning you will need an active miniDP-to-DVI adapter. if your monitors don't support it then you are screwed before you start.
Triple+ Monitor gaming is not going to vanish but it's a small crowd that actually does this, it will still be supported for many generations to come because AMD and Nvidia love to benchmark that crap even if it is for little to no gain finacially.
I've never been for the WQHDs and don't care for them at the price yet. Your gpu is going to strain like a ♥♥♥♥♥ with each additional monitor added. That means if you can play max settings on one monitor by the time you get to the 3rd split in high resoultion chances are you going to be in medium settings just to have decent performance.
I highly recommend Crossfire for triple monitor gaming else you are going to be sorely disappointed when all said and done.
Hopefully that gives you a better idea of what you are getting into.
