Good Idea for steam(money/benefit wise)
To Steam, I know that Steam makes money when they do the Weekend deals or deals alone for games and knock off 10% to 75% or so, so i suggest a good idea for Steam to make money would be to Introduce Membership's for users, to do this they would have to charge people a reasonable amount of money (once or monthly, possibly yearly) to become a member, the benefit for the people who become members would be to give the members the opportunity to have more deals off of games for those big time gamers of Steam, which im sure they would be more than happy to save money as Steam makes money (possibly WIN/WIN situation), there should be more benefits as well maybe even a package or so every year or whatever comes more money beneficiary and of course what the members will enjoy more, this is somthing that Steam will need to Discuss, more ideas would be usefull

No thanks you, I don't feel like paying Valve to create sales that further suck money away from my wallet. Isn't that paying twice, pay to pay? Jesus, don't give them any ideas, EA could be reading the boards.
So, PAY PER SALES?... Pay more in order to... Pay less?

Nah, i prefer Steam pretty much as it is.
100% disagree,
I disagree, this system has kind of proven itself to not work on things like Playstation Plus and to be honest the sales are already fantastic on here, there is no need for a futher discount on something as much as 75%.
Steam wants things to be even among it's users. In order to do what you suggest, they would have to sacrifice the sales they already give. You would end up paying for the same sales you get now with those who don't pay getting worse sales.
I paid for the Gamestop Rewards membership that is now 6 months in and nothing purchased from them. I haven't made use of any of the coupons or anything else. Not sure I want this same feeling of regret from a Steam membership program...
There would have to be more to offer members as in Free games or something, I do not believe this would work for Steam, although it is an interestng thought if they can make it worth the while for people to pay.. More of a percent off just doesn't cut it.. They would have to offer something special, as well as a recognition for those who would pay the membership.. Not oly that but they would still have to maintain the current member base as it is and membership would HAVE to be OPTIONAL

Generally speaking such programs are used to entice usres to a specifc service, and then keep them within the ecosystem.

Steam is the leader in the space. Also their 'carrot' is basically Steamworks which drives devlopers to the platform, which drives more users.

You could purchase Steam prepaid cards to earn points for power up rewards items.
Aw hells naw.
Misleading title - it's a crappy idea.

People should really stop trying to come up with membership schemes and premium schemes for Steam. They are crappy ideas, they would not improve Steam in any way shape or form and are completely unnecessary. Just stop.

It's better now, just buy a game and you get the same level of service and access to all the same features as everybody else, no premium fees required.
