Verified symbol/badge
Hello, i hope somebody from Valve is reading this.
I have an idea that on Steam you could get verified if you are "popular" and get the tick next to your name (even when chatting) and/or the Verified badge for some XP points. I'd like to see ticks on steam because when i search for "Garry Newman" or "PewDiePie" or even "Gaben" all i see is fake impersonators. Also, if someone would have a verified tick he would be pushed to the top of the search results so people can easily find his profile. I hope somebody from Valve (Valve Employee) will notice this and think about it because all those impersonating account are buzzing me off. Also i got this idea that when somebody is verified he can choose NOT to get friend requests but the verified person can add others (that means no fangirls)
Thank you for your reading, i may post a photoshopped prototype of these ticks down below someday.

Edit: Also if this would happen i would be happy to get a tick next to my name :)

What is a tick? i don't think i understand (and don't be worried Valve see's)

Those popular people like Pewdiepie etc don't want people knowing their profiles. That's why they don't use their names, and that's why the profiles you search for are fakes.

If they do want you to know there account you will find it on there youtube... if its not there... high chance you will never really find it

The "official tick" is based off what they have already implemented in Facebook and Twitter. Because people just follow the posts of these "famous" individuals, it would not work on Steam because you cannot follow people without first friending them and there are only a limited number of friends you can have.

I didn't say anything about following. All i said about is the tick. I meant it just to say "Hey, i'm the real one" so people don't fall for fake ones because my friend once sent a game to the fake Garry Newman.

To summarize my point, people do not want to be spammed with thousands of friend invites. The tick works on other social media services because they do not get friend invites, they get "followed", it will not work on Steam.

Another idea: When somebody is verified he can choose NOT to get friend requests but to just add

So this idea inconveniences them, but who exactly is it helping besides obsessed stalkers?

People searching for the real one.
Because people want to give him gifts, but when the person's verified he can get requests from no one or just verified people

You can just send the gifts to their Email. To send gifts through Steam, you would need to be on their friend list and if they have blocked all friend invites, it won't work.

Because some famous people do not want gifts.

They are not famous... YOU make them. A famous person is someone who has accomplised something good for the world. Hitler has never been called famous, and never will be. You can call them "People-who-are-being-followed-by-morons", not famous.
