Edit: meant keys not cases
Cheaper keys means more keys are bought, correct, but also means more items are unboxed, which drives down their rarity and value. Which makes buying keys less worthy on the long run.
You're just moving future sales to present, not generating more sales.
Valve has been tweaking this process for years on TF2 and so far, it works like a blast there. They have far more data gathered to correctly set up key prices than anyone of us.
I totally agree with you except we already have junk selling for 3 cents. So it feels like the only to take a hit are like AWP skins or knives. I'd rather have a chance at say...I dunno...That Blue Nova then constantly get the same MP7 over and over again. Like I wish there was a "key can be used twice or it can be used to open then reroll what you get if you don't like it"
That way if you got something you're okay with you can open another case, and if you got something you have 5 of you can retry at least get another chance even if you just get something else you have 5 of
Its not as though you are gambling with keys for you always win, its the fact that you have a higher chance of winning the same item you just unboxed.
