The anticheat solution is pointless without backing it up, with personal credential demand !
How about Valve start with Steam account control and get some personal credentials on them ?

This way it will be the end of anonymous account creations and Valve would know who the person is behind every single account here on steam, it will even help Valve to protect this platform against Chatgpt´s and other Ai activity´s, it will help protect the users accounts even more aswell !

Back it up with a very strict anticheat system that ban the users instantly if they are cheating in the game ?

Yeah i think that would be the most solid solution to counterfight cheaters with !

Valve say that they use millions of dollars each year on fighting cheaters in their online games, well here is the deal, give me a couple of thous million dollars and I promess Valve that this idea here will keep the cheaters at its very bare minimum or as close to 0 cheaters as possible in the future !

Thanks in advance

Gathering personal information like that is illegal in many places.

NOt to mentiond Governments are very hesitant about giving corps access to their databases like that.

But of course the central problem becomes.. how do you know the person presenting the credentials is the person said credentials refer to?

Unless you're gonna go full CHina....

As many will point out, it's illegal in many countries to do anything of the sort.

You can pick either a punishing anti-cheat, or you can advocate for & install an extremely intrusive, high resource using anti-cheat that will likely damage performance. Pick one.

No it is not illegal, Blizzard allready does it and many other companies does it, to secure their systems and users and to easyer sue people that tryes to hack, scam, steal and other illegal stuff on the internet !

it will even help protect our kids online against evil persons that dont want them any good !

So all in all it is the best solution there is !

You can like it or not, but that is the future if Valve wants to secure this platform against cheaters and other anonymous type of people ! :steamsunny:

Anticheat doesn't work like you think it does. No decent anti cheat is going to ban someone instantly if it detects a cheat. You need a delay so you can catch alot of cheaters at once or they tweak the chest to avoid detection

steam has the worse anti cheat know in gaming, its not even a thing.

Vac is a intrusive file sniffer that looks for modified files, a majority of players know how to get around this an continue to cheat. steam relies on players like you and me to report said cheaters which steam often times takes a while to ban them.

there is also high level of speculation that a majority of the abusive cheaters are paying steam to get a free pass to cheat, I have seen many 10 year and 5 year badge cheaters.

I would Love to See CSGO without script abusing and Cheating, it would be enjoyable game if they could actually remove cheating from the equation.

Only thing I can find for Blizzard, is requiring an ID to reclaim an account or to delete the account. Nothing about storing such information or even verifying it (let alone with any government agency), making it so a fake ID can be used.

None of it is stored and seems to be deleted after their support views it.

I doubt "other companies" are any different. Can't really check, as none were specified.

Do you have any links so I can read up on other's policies for such a thing?

"High level speculation" is just you spreading that misinformation.

Blizzard does what?
I've had a Bnet account for years and played everything from D2 to WoW and never once had to put in any personal ID or anything like that. Same info I had to put in for STeam is the same info I used to create my Bnet account

So do tell when and where does Blizzard ask you to rpvide Personal Credentials?

Except as said. There's no way to confirm the credentials belong to the person entering them.

Nope, no game or platform will ever be safe from cheaters, no matter what one does. There will always be workarounds, even if it means a new black market for accounts and/or IDs.

I don't like this idea, personal information should not be handed out to valve. The anti cheat needs to be improved though.

If Blizzard can, then so can Valve !

it is pointless to improve the anticheat system, when the cheaters can come back on a new account about 5 mins later and continue where they left off :steamlaughcry:

That is why my suggestion is a great idea, because it will stop the recurring of the cheaters and other type of anonymous illegal behaviors e.g. such as scam, account theft and more + it will protect the users against chatgpt´s and other Ai technology´s that is abused today !

Yeah Not seeing it m8

provide Blizzard with accurate and up to date information that is personal to you, such as your name, address, phone number, and email address. Additionally, in order to play certain Games or use certain features offered on the Platform, you may also be required to provide Blizzard with payment information (such as credit card information).
So basically the same as Steam and every other service. At no point are you to provide any verifiable information. beyond maybe your email address and phone number

So Blizzard doesn't do it.
