Do not allow AI games onto Steam.

Steam recently announced it was going to allow AI games onto its platform. Respectfully, do not allow AI games onto your platform in any capacity; it is nigh impossible for users to identify AI-generated materials en masse and the marketplace will be flooded with games that are barely games at all.

Quality control will go down the sink and you'll find players refunding their games left and right and outright refusing to buy new ones out of a well-earned fear of getting an AI turd.

Those who use AI are not forthcoming; they know that AI will turn off buyers and keep it a secret even from those who ask. I have asked developers about who drew their art and who then told me in private that it was AI generated and asked me to not tell anyone.

You will have a deluge of AI-generated games from developers who will not admit to using AI and in such large quantities that users cannot possibly identify them all and it will result in subpar, incomplete, and non-functional games by the dozen. Users will refund these aplenty if they're not already holding back on buying games because they're worried about buying AI drivel.

I urge Steam to immediately take back this decision. It may come across as an indecisive "flip-flop" but gamers and developers will be happy that you are listening to them and it will restore faith in the Steam brand before that faith is destroyed by AI games.

I hope you do this soon because I am of the opinion that I should probably move to Good Old Games if AI is allowed on this platform.

Valve has decided to platform that crap and all it will do is annoy its customers and developers and hurt its bottom line.

This isn't as much of a 'car' kind of invention, but more like a 'blockchain 2.0' kind of.
It's more sellable and more 'spectacular' than trying to sell a blockchain was, but it's not going to be this world changing tech jump.

You're overestimating AI. At the end of the day stuff like CoPilot are mostly the same thing developers have been doing for years (StackOverflow Coding) with a more 'natural' search engine and direct Copy and Paste on your preferred IDE.

AI isn't going to take the seat of any senior developer anytime soon. AI isn't going to build you a game anytime soon either. If anything, it'll take some code monkey places on a company mass producing template products.

Worst part is it's such a massive insult and middle finger to every hard working game dev out there. It's not even a matter of 'copyrighting AI' [whatever the hell that means], it's the fact AI is a tool built to steal art and infringe copyright in the first place. The only reason we should care about 'being able to tell' is so that we know everything in the game is stolen, but 'being able to tell' just helps take pressure and responsibility off Valve and places it onto gamers when we shouldn't have to be the ones dodging AI games like traffic cones in the first place by Valve not giving them a platform. Now why should any game dev post their hard work on steam if lazy careless pricks who call an incomplete sentence 'art' are now facilitated by Valve thus allowing thieves to get away with making money off their work? I am very on board with moving to GOG.
