Steam, stop asking me to write reviews, and definitely don't ask me twice
It's really annoying and far more likely to make me leave a negative review. The patronizing "You spent another 2 hours playing this game, how about you make the review positive" is even more irritating and has never once convinced me to change my review.

As a paying customer I should have an option to not be bothered by Steam. Inb4 "ignore it"; I usually do, but it's still annoying. I can poke you in the back of the head twice a day every day, and you could ignore it; but you'd probably prefer that I stop doing it.

Also clicking ignore for my 200+ games library is busywork. I'd rather not do busywork. This is why I don't mind the ads that pop up on start up; I click once and they're gone. The annoying "leave a review" prompt is on every single game and will only return later if I ignore it. In fact it will return AGAIN if I play a game after leaving a negative review; which is just penalizing me for giving a game another shot. It's an inherently anti-consumer AND anti-developer feature since irritated users like me are going to get annoyed and be more likely to leave a bad review out of spite.

Oh and of course I would only be asking for a toggle to disable this feature; and would of course expect it to default to being on; but I should at least be allowed to disable this annoying thing from popping up on every game (and even games I already disliked).

You just tick the request to dont ask? no maybe later. I dont see them again.
A better idea would be to offer after a 100 hours of play.

Highly ironic post IMO.
I seriously doubt that even a significant minority would feel compelled to leave a negative review simply because they're prompted.

Ironic because the Steam policy of pushing for reviews at the 3 hour mark clearly biases reviews upwards as (coincidentally! Cough!) was just discussed at great length here.

Steam used to ask for reviews after about 15 hours if I'm not mistaken. Now it's after only 3 hours, which certainly IMO biases review scores UPWARD as everyone WANTS to like a game that they just spent money on, the first few hours they play it.

Gonna need to mod Steam with adblock to remove annoying nagging popups. At least Valve hasn't learned about the notification red dot every other major company likes to abuse... yet.

Well at least they will only nag you for a different review if the one you already left is negative.
If you leave a positive review they will like that answer and never nag you again to revise it.
Positive reviews lead to sales from which Steam gets a percentage.

So yeah, Steam will pester you for a review after only THREE HOURS in game, which is absolutely ridiculous. And only ask you again if you didn't leave a positive review.

It makes no sense to complain about the 3 hours as opposed to the 15 hours previously. LOL wut.

Also, just don't do it.
Oh, and it literally can't give a pop up about leaving a review after you leave a review. Seriously, that is recursive levels of recursion. :P No company does that.

I mean, on my end, it's really not a pop up, it's just a little thing that shows up when you look at the main page for something in your library.

Yeah, but isn't it just that little bar under a game that basically is, "Review this game."?

No, it's a rather blue prompt on the game pages in the library. I get one after 3 hours, 10 hours and then again 30 hours. It shouldn't keep asking it, it's mobile behaviour which is bloody annoying on there as well.

I review a game whenever I want to review it. Such prompts only make me NOT want to do it.

While other people can easily ignore it, my autistic charm goes haywire on it. :lunar2019grinningpig:
