when adding items to cart lock in price for a grace period.
i tried to buy a game on sale, added to cart, tried to check out and as i was checking out it reverted price.

nice try...i refuse to buy the game now.

it would be nice if there was a reasonable grace period when adding something to your cart. you could make it 10 minutes. seems like a logical step during timed events like the autumn sale.

You mean the 24 hour grace period for the sale?
People are going to miss a sale no matter how long Valve extends it.
Daily deals now last 48 hours.
One can really extend sale time so far and still call it a sale.
one wouldn't think adding a small grace period for checking out wouldn't be a big deal...but thats ok, keep being smarmy.
It really depends on the length of the grace period. Amazon gives you about 15min for quick sales I think, just as a comparison, not that I would buy anything there :)
see? that seems reasonable. even 5 minutes with a note in your cart saying sales will only stay viable for 5-15 minutes in cart after sale ends. its a quality of life thing.

The problem with is that you will get people saying "oh you can do 15 minutes... why not 20... or 30" until you end up doing it for an extra 24 hours... which is what happens! You are getting an EXTRA 24 hours as it is.

Except that "Flash Sales" are only on for 8 hours...
yah i came in on the end of a flash sale....sorry but saying "try not to miss the sales" is kind of ridiculous. i have a real life, just would be nice if you're there for the end of it and are able to get it into your cart if there was a small grace period for the actual buying of whatever you get into your cart. thats all i'm saying.
15 mins with a timer would be reasonable. Kinda like GMG's system.
