Add a zoom in/out feature to steam client
Text in the store is too small. It seems to be browser based. Can't you just enable the zoom in zoom out feature (Ctrl +, Ctrl -).

I tried the "Big Picture", but the solution there seems to have been to remove every bit of text you can. I want to see the text, I just want to see it bigger.

I don't really want the client taking up the whole screen and playing loud sound effects. Big Picture is kind of obnoxious, IMO.
Agreed. I really dislike the big picture mode.

Ya, clearly that is the only possible option here
You know not that possible in the new clinet that comes out at some point it may be build in and there for they just have no much of a reason to mess with it on the clinet that is out of date
But ya.. no clearly only reason is that they don't care :D:

Sure they dont ... after all these years... lol. years.

I do not see a new client yet.

After the 'switchover' to the chat.. I'm not having high hopes..

So CLEARLY... years of not caring.

If you ignore everything else, ya I guess you be right?
But that is a narrow view to fit a nartive no?

About the new clinet its Valve, I am sure you as knowing how long around you been know that they are not the fastest bunch, and Valve time is what it is
They do seem to take pogress on it, and it seem to be soon, we passed the last XP support date (as new clinet dose not support XP), and Developers are asked to give in new assets for the new clinet
So it around the cornor (In Valve time obvisly so the next 2-5 years (I do hope this will be a joke :D:))

I don't know about a narrow view after seeing how Valve operates for 14 years..

Tiz okay.. hopefully I'll still be alive when they decide to include such a widely supported feature.

Heck windows has been zooming on the desktop for quite a while now.. every single browser that I've used does it.. aside of the crap that is included in Steam ..

Oh well.. Cromium cromium .. and still I'm forced to use an external browser so that my old eyes can read the screen..

This feature would have been very nice YEARS ago.

oh well..

Let em do what they want. .. Its coming.... on Valve time..

Yea.. I'll probably see half-life rebooted before I see a zoom feature.. and I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not sure if we need zoom in/out but we certainly need individual text / font size settings!

The video player progress bar is very short vertically and hard to click. I gave up on themes, they are a mess. The client has no option to set global font size of the default theme either. People with accessibility issues need zoom for the web view. I hope a Valve employee will see this thread.

Googling for a "solution" to this issue and found a 6+ years old thread, oh dear... and had to use the Web Browser to be able and read (and reply) it about 3m away from the TV... its kinda obvious they wont do anything about it... this is both funny and sad...

This ♥♥♥♥ is worth necroing :ccskull:

You got my vote. I love that this is from 2013; has a load of support; and recently there has been a few other accessibility requests :pinkheart:

Steam client uses Chromium Embedded Framework[bitbucket.org] (CEF), related to Google's Chrome browser. This can be seen by the various references to "CEF" in the commandlines that steamwebhelper runs. CEF has supported zoom since its issue 116[code.google.com] was fixed by revision 167 on Jan 25, 2011.

It's not clear what work needs to be done to implement this. Valve might just need to have the Steam client bind the typical keys (e.g. in windows and linux ctrl+ and ctrl-, ctrl-mousewheel-up and ctrl-mousewheel-down).
