Like to use Steam to launch games instead of TriDef 3D Ignition
When I like to play games in stereoscopic 3D then I need to use the TriDef game launcher program (so TriDef can intecept the Direct3D calls). This methode always restarts steam and launch the game with the given appid.
I would like to use the opposite way that steam calls TriDef to launch the game process. It is more convenient. Steam does not need to reconnect. Never again start a game with wrong TriDef settings.
Would be really cool if valve developers and TriDef developers could find a way to cooperate on a better integration.

Well looking at Valve i think it will need to come from TriDef.... also if they will add command line for the game you can use that to do so.. (like you can do now with Java base game like Minecraft)
As you can use the launch Options to set it for each game

Ok, TriDef already supports comandline arguments like:
"C:\Programme\TriDef 3D\TriDef\TriDefIgnition\TriDefIgnition.exe" -a "Half-Life 2"
But I don't know how to set the launch options in a way to start TriDefIgnition.exe instead of the hl2.exe. Maybe I just missing the last pice of the puzzle.
I also tried to add TriDefIgnition as custom launcher. That does not work well. Looks like TriDefIgnition kills the Steam process and restarts it with app id. Not sure what exactly went wrong. It also makes me think that calling TriDefIgnition from within steam is not the right way.
In my opinion there is some room for improvment to streamline this launch process.
For my part I stay with the little bit inconvenient but known working way starting stereoscopic 3D games.

Just turn on 3D in the graphics driver options, no need to launch game through anything.

Yes, upgrading my machine is an option, too. I think it is only nvidia offering it in the driver settings.

Thanks Black Blade, but the description is for starting steam games from a TriDef Launcher (that actually works and DDD did a good job working around steam related problems) and the forum post also mentioned the "quirks" that I think could be improved by valve. It is just a "nice to have".
