Main problem i see is users that will just gift them self over and over to get some levels
Adding to that a gift you profit from is not much of a gift
But seriously now, if there is really a way to find a way to limit these to make it worth it i think it can be cool
For people who activate the gift later, you can either record the Original Buyer for knowing who will gain XP, or cut down the XP altogether. Both of these can't really be abused, but have to hurt someone in the chain.
Another solution, but prone to abuse, would be to halve the XP earned for the gifter each time a given gift is gifted again (for those who enjoy calculations, it'd render as XP gained = base XP/(2^number of time gifted), rounded down) and to award the XP only upon activation of said gift.
For a 10 XP base, the XP gain nullifies at the 5th gift, and an abuser would only get barely double XP by doing so. Not worth it for such a small amount, and both the original buyer and its generous friend are rewarded for gifting the game.
What was the way before this one?
