Filtering out Early Access reviews
First of all, I would like to point out that I am not here to argue about Early Access itself.

Many games have had a rather rocky road during their time on Early Access. This often causes massive amounts of negative reviews to be written by those disappointed in the game at the time. This is, of course, completely fair, and as it should be. People should be able to voice their opinions after all.

However, some games that struggle during the beginning of their time in Early Access might later turn out to become good games. Some early reviewers might not want to come back to the game again after their intial, bad experience, though. This is also completely fair and I respect their decision.

However, after its Early Access period, once the game gets its full release, it would be useful for the customers to be able to filter out the reviews that were written during the Early Access period (i.e. reviews tagged as "Early Access reviews") and have not been updated since.

This would lead to the "score" of the User Reviews (e.g. "Very Positive"), located in the top-right of a game's Store Page to be more in line with the final product instead of an early Alpha build that people could have been possibly disappointed in.

Finally, to conclude, it would be extremely useful if users could choose to filter out the Early Access reviews if they so desire, leaving the "score" of the User Reviews (e.g. "Very Positive") to only reflect the reviews that have been written or updated after the full release of the game in question.

That's not critique. That's stating a fact that my suggestion is based on. What's with the hostility?

I do agree on these, but i like to add to that even more as was suggested before
To allow to filter the to the currect stage reviews, also while the game is in Early Access
And also after

As just as a game left Early Access it dose not have to stop updating, also why only Early Access? it can be all games, of all types i think that it can be good for

seen a few times games with "Mostly Negative" Reviews or the like, with the top postive starting with something like "Many bad reviews for these games do so as these or that were missing, but it was fixed now"
So when the game got update i think will be good to be yet able to see the current Verizon review for all games

I agree with you on this. This could be useful. The filtering could be tied to the latest patch so you could filter out any reviews that were written or updated before the patch.

However, you should also be able to see all the reviews if you want. This prevents the developers from "resetting" the reviews by issuing mindlessly small patches.

The filters could include "all reviews", "no Early Access reviews", "only reviews since the latest patch", or something along those lines.

why do they even let you do a review on a Early Access game. the hole point of it is it is in beta and will most likely not work like it will after it is out of Early Access

because what you stated is not a fact its highly debateable with your use of the word 'many'.
you say your not wanting to argue but then the very next thing you do is build a frame to do exactly as you claim you arent

That is a valid point. That is why I am suggesting this.

Have I offended you in some way? I am not arguing about Early Access as a practice in any way. You can change what I said to "some games" or "a few games" inside your head and think about it like that if you want. If you claim that no game has had any problems during its period in Early Access, I am baffled. However, I am still not here to argue about whether that is true or not and to what extent.

Do you have a problem with my suggestion or the way that I presented it? I am not a native speaker so I apologize for anything that feels unclear to you. I hope that the paragraph above this one has clarified my suggestion.

My point still remains. If I so desired, I would like to be able to filter out reviews that may not be representative of the product at the moment. So basically any reviews before a certain point.

Actually, my suggestion could be modified so that you could actually filter out reviews based on date. So, you could filter out any reviews written or last updated, for example, before the full release or the latest patch.

EDIT: Just to make it clear, I own a few Early Access games that I have enjoyed so far. So I got no problem with Early Access itself.
