Offensive Store Banner
Certain M-rated content is offensive to certain people. This is sort of the whole idea behind the ratings system. Giving ian M-rated game a massive banner at the top of the store page is a bad idea. This banner is disgusting to me and I don't want to look at it. I don't care about the sale boxes and stuff. I can tolerate that, because people can play what they want, and that's really just fair exposure, but a giant banner at the top of the page is TOO MUCH.

It's a commercial banner so it's not going away anytime soon.
So you dont mind the mature content it's the mature content sign you have issues with?

It's the forcing me to look at something disgusting in order to access the store that I have an issue with. I can avoid the content by simply not buying the game, but if I want to go to the store right now there's a giant banner right in my face showing me nightmare fuel. I can't get rid of it by marking it "not interested".

I'm not complaining about the existence of the game. I'm sure a lot of people like it and will enjoy playing it. I am not one of those people. I don't like death and gore and evil looking things. It bothers me. What I'm complaining about is having it shoved down my throat anyway when the M-rating clearly indicates that it's known to offend some people.
its just a video game, im sure i saw more disgusting things than a sexy zombie ;)
So to be clear, you find the Dying Light promotional banner upsetting?

I'm not sure that the M-rating argument really holds here because the content of the game was rated, not the relatively bland promotional materials.

I doubt there's a good solution for this problem. Lots of games have scary, angry faces in promotional artwork, just like lots of games have cleavage, or guns, or whatever. Until it gets taken down you might just want to set steam to go directly to your library instead of the store, and if you must use the store, do it in a browser with an ad blocker you can set to hide the banner.
i honestly dont see the problem here, its just a couple of hot zombies, all of us have seen worse no doubt
Are you 'offended' when they put up POS stuff in Gamestop for GTAV?

I'm guessing the OP thinks that some kind of X rated hot zombie sex will occur on the banner somehow if you stare at it long enough
Do you really need to make another topic for this? Or was your first one closed/moved. Its a silly request because if they did it for you, they should have to do it for everyone that finds something "upsetting" about a picture on steam and if they did, sooner or later there would be no ads for games on steam. There are lots of ads for stuff I don't want to see, I just ignore them.

As was suggested to you, block it yourself with an ad blocker.

I cant find anything offensive with the store banner. Do you mean the zombie face?

I also just checked adblock and you can filter out banner images from the site. I strongly suggest you take matters into your own hands and manually block content you do not wish to see.

I think he change the matter, seeing that the other one did not work well for him
So i assume its trying to find some path on why it needs to be removed

The dead face with blood pouring off it? It's great that it doesn't offend you, but it offends me. Meanwhile, there's no adblocker in the steam client. We're in the suggestions forum and I'm explaining a problem but the response is that I should use the website instead of the client and apply an outside utility to solve a problem with the store?

There are people who are offended by gore. The game is rated M, partially because of gore. The banner contains gore and visually disturbing imagery. I'm not asking for the game to be changed or hidden or have anything else done to it that would penalize it compared to other games on Steam. I'm asking to not have gore and disturbing imagery given a massively intrusive position on the store page.

Like I said previously, it's not a matter of the game being advertised like other games are. It's a matter of a game that's known to bother some people being given a special, unavoidable position on the store page that can't be dismissed, and blatantly showcases one of the aspects of the game that people are known to be bothered by. It means that I can't enter the store without seeing something disturbing. Yeah, I could use the website instead and install and apply an adblocker, but it's a lot easier for me to just not use the store, rather than being treated like a second class citizen.

For those of you who are choosing to try and sexualize this, it may come as a shock, but there's more than sex going on in the world. There are, in fact, some people who have seen violence and death in the real world and don't particularly want to be reminded of it constantly. I'm not asking anyone to adopt any kind of moral position or change their life in any way. I get that you have your own thing going on, and that's fine. I'm just asking to be able to shop like a normal human being without having that constantly thrown in my face.

That's a Rorschach test, frankly. The image is stylized with streaks running up and down because dirty, smeared, and noisy images are the cool thing to do with your spooky scary game's art. You could read it as blood, but I think the problem here is you can read any number of games' art as offensive that way.
The 'gore' if you can even call it that is entirely stylized. If you're offended by that you must have a lot of problems looking at movie billboards, movie trailers, etc.

What about the RE2 Rev image in the center rotation? That's way more 'gory'

Eh it's pretty much the same as the physical front box/cover art that is displayed on the shelves of every game store selling it or movie theaters and retailers with posters and dvd cases for horror titles like Saw 2.

Though this is an online store so I guess it wouldn't be hard to implement something like don't even have "M" titles show on all store pages.
