Steam "Live chat" support
Hi :)

I think it's okay to put up tickets and all that but i think there should be a live chat on steam also.. Some people only have a Little issue that could take 5 minutes with a live chat but it takes like a week or so for steam to answer on the "tickets".. It doesnt have to be a 24/7 live chat tho.. But the idea could be very good. I dont know what you think about this.

Ha, two weeks! That’s a joke, I'm going on 3 weeks and still haven’t heard a word from Steam Support about my incident. The only ones that seem to be helpful are the community and moderators, and even after 4 days of going back and forth with them, it didn’t resolve the issue (yes, it was previously posted in the community, twice actually)..

It’s amazing that we can have new Steam Client Betas out like every 4 days, but weeks go by before Steam Support responds to an incident..

And technically, aren’t there US consumer protection laws about online purchases: I bet if everyone waited the set time then called their card company under the Fair Credit Billing Act, complaining about “purchased software didn’t function as specified on the advertising site after meeting the requirements as set by the company”, and also “could not reach support to work on a resolution”, maybe then Steam would finally do something about their support, the lack of that is...
People already do that. It's called a chargeback. The money is taken from Steam but in turn Steam removes the game and locks the account anywhere from 9 weeks to forever depending on severity and repetition.
Interesting, and I bet they lock that account faster than they would reply to the Steam Support incident to begin with lol

I believe it is somewhat automated as it happens within a couple days of Steam noticing it.

Dude that may be right or not, but as stated on the tread over and over its not even under Valve to support that, the game works fine for many users, and it not working on your system alone show that its not a problem most likely with the game
And any how it has nothing to do with Steam support.. as stated there all ready... they do not support game problems
i agree i would use some help from them. If they agree to do it.
I completely agree. i've had the "pleasure of encoutering the steam support for the first time, i posted my issue on December 9th. and i have still to get an answer. I'm really sick and tired about that, that a simple issue takes almost an entire month to even give an answer...

Actually I think a live support chat is a great idea, I have been having trouble with purchasing on steam lately and the "Ticket system" Is just not very efficient and by the time that steam does finally reply to your problem, you have already forgot all of the details of the problem and are super confused of what steam is trying to tell you. also if steam misunderstands the problem you are having, you can quickly correct them and get them on track to fixing your problem. Also big companies like LG, Samsung, Geek Squad, HP, etc. all have Live chats and It usually takes only up to 5 minutes to get a response from support staff, and they are bigger companies then steam.

"You are 8366th in the line. Please, be patient"

Problem is the trojan and phising links that are here. One user opens a link, downloads a trojan, his whole inventory will be stolen and the trojan sends the same link to everybody who are in the user's friendlist. Then another guy downloads it, inventory stolen, trojan sends link to new users and so on. Read these forums every day. I see like 10 new users who has been phised.

But I agree with one thing, response times are incredibly long but one reason I just mentioned above. Another thing would be how many users Steam has and asking for help with 3rd party games or something.

I really wish there was a way to resolve this but how do you stop people from downloading trojans or make them search BEFORE they waste Support's time?

You cant stop people from downloading viruses or whining to support about it tho knowing its none of supports business to take care of.. But live chat or not.. That wont stop.. Im sure if a live chat came up for talk Steam would find a solution to help out people .. (Thinking of your "You are 8366th in the line") .. They would probably find a solution of not having that long queues..
This i a two way situation. There is a good thing if they inplent live support in the steam client. But what they need to do Before they can do that is to get more staff to the steam support Before live support can be a thing to be done.

This isn't up to Valve, I doubt they even provide support themselves, nah they just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ outsource it to the lowest bidder, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥.

Software technology companies have the worst customer support, its almost criminal

Valve dose, something that really makes it unique unlike most companies, they support the support by there own staff

Yea , that's will be good.
Yeah, it would be very very awesome. I have a problem, that could be resolved in less than 10 minutes... My account is locked, and now I can't unlock without contacting the support. And now I need to wait a few days.. Or weeks??
