Hide the account login name from the interface

I think it would a nice idea to be able to hide the login name from the top right corner of Steam, since it's useless to have it there for 90% of the people (I can only think of two exceptions: people with multiple accounts with the same username and people prone to forget their account name, like it's seen from time to time in the forums).

Besides those cases, I think that it would be a good idea to be able to hide something that you are supposed to not tell anybody, and I don't think it would be so hard to implement. It's not like people is going to be around you all day trying to see your account name, but it would still be better if we had the option to hide it, I dislike login on Steam on public places when I'm with my laptop, for example.

I do agree, i record videos from time to time, with guides, and when i do it on Steam i have the problem of my user name showing... something i prefer to hide (and there for use the borrower thanks to Enhanced Steam its showing my Display name)

Now that you say it, I suppose it would also show it if you are streaming and have the "record desktop" enabled.

Bump. Having the option to hide my Steam alias doesn't really matter so much to me, but I do like the idea of being able to hide my Steam login from the overlay while recording/streaming.

The problem some of us with older accounts is that instead of my SteamID, my email login shows instead. That is a massive security issue and why I always have to be careful with desktop screenshots so I don't accidentally give that info out.
